My Diary 2018
Travel |Hotels | Food | Photography & More
January – Pristina, Kosovo Postponed until later in the year!
Kosovo, self-declared independent country in the Balkans region of Europe. Although the United States and most members of the European Union recognised Kosovo’s Declaration of Independence from Serbia in 2008, Serbia, Russia and a significant number of other countries including several EU members did not. Kosovo was admitted to the United Nations (UN)
The name Kosovo is derived from a Serbian place-name meaning, Field of Blackbirds.
The borders of Kosovo are mainly mountainous, characterised by sharp peaks and narrow valleys so, I’m pretty much hoping that I get some real good Photography on my visit.
Feb – California – San Diego – LA – Santa Barbra
Including a trip to Palm Springs A city in the Sonoran Desert of Southern California It’s known for its hot springs, stylish hotels, golf courses and spas.
The shopping district along Palm Canyon Drive features vintage boutiques, interior design shops ’which will make me feel right at home’ And restaurants.
Although not confirmed as yet, I will be visiting either Sacramento or Arizona I will update that very soon.
There are other events etc through-out the year which I will update once dates have been confirmed.
April – Campbeltown – Argyll & Bute
Home to one side of my Irish Ancestral Heritage were my great great grandparents came over from County Antrim and settled in Southend, my great great grandfather a Shepherd and his family worked the farms.
One of the graveyards sits on the land that belonged to one of my great great uncles whom is buried there along with other members of the family, some of the family emigrated to Australia and others to America.

July – Clifden – Galway
I’m off to Galway, home to the other half of my Ancesrtial Heritage were I will be continuing that side of my family tree and exploring the beauty of traditional pubs, live Irish folk music, boutiques and art galaries.
Galway, a harbour city on Ireland’s West Coast, sits where the River Corrib meets the Atlantic Ocean.
Fresh local oysters, mussels and other seafood are highly recommended so it’s safe to say I’ll certainly be having a little of a feast, I can’t possibly be there and not try.
Stay updated on my Travel, Hotel and Food reviews as well as photography with #belindatravelstheglobe on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram. I’ll be visiting Liverpool – Newcastle – The Isle Of Sky – Italy and possibly back to Krakow this year too, dates yet to be confirmed
