San Francisco – Alcatraz

SAN FRANCISCO The place to be…

San Francisco Spanish for Saint Francis. The cultural, commercial, and financial center of Northern California and such a beautiful city.

It’s also the birthplace of the United Nations, who now have their headquarters in New York.

San Francisco is the fourth most popular city in California then Los Angeles, San Diego and San Jose. Talking of San Jose, they were having some real major storms while I was in SF and boy did I pray they weren’t headed my way.

unfortunately I didn’t have time to go to LA, Calabasas nor Simi Valley as planned as I ran out of time, however there’s always next time.

I would highly recommend a visit to Alcatraz this was my second visit and I never tire of the place, with so much history and the most stunning views of the SF Skyline, the Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge. It never fails to take my breath away and I can’t wait to go back.

On this visit I managed to catch William Walker one of the last and oldest remaining Ex Cons who spent many years inside, we had a lovely chat and he signed his book for me of which I’m looking forward to reading very soon.

Williams book is available on Amazon.co.uk I’m sure you will enjoy it as much as I will.

To see some of my Best Shots of San Francisco jump onto my Facebook Albums There’s still many more to upload but I will get round to it.

Belinda 😘

  1. Thank you kindly Gillian, yes, Alcatraz is definitely my favourite place to go when I’m in San Francisco and at night over the Bay bridge to photograph the San Fran Skyline lit up at night. Absolutely stunning. X
