Sad, Lonely & A Long Way From Home

Extract From Chapter 10

Jealously and Suspicion

“I don’t like other men being over friendly with you,” he said. I agreed to give in my notice, just like that. What on earth was I thinking?
A part of me found it very endearing that Peter didn’t like the attention I got and it showed me that he really did love me, even though I knew deep down I enjoyed working the pubs. so I handed in my notice.

It wasn’t until about a year later, I realised just how bad Peter’s obsession about me not being around other men had become. It wasn’t just a jealous thing, it was possession, and boy did that have some serious consequences.
