Shanghai's two airports saw their daily flights more than double and daily passenger trips triple, according to official sources.
A total of 700,000 aircraft landed or took off at Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport throughout 2023, or 1,919 per day, a surge of 114 percent year-on-year, the Shanghai Airport Authority said on Tuesday.
As many as 96.75 million passenger trips were handled at the city's two airports last year, or 270,000 passenger trips daily, soaring 235 percent year-on-year.
In the meantime, cargo throughput in the two airports rose 15 percent year-on-year to 3.8 million tons, the Shanghai Airport Authority added.
