A Chinese tourist tragically lost her life on Saturday (23rd) while skiing in Niigata Prefecture, Japan, after reportedly being buried under snow following a fall.
The incident occurred on a ski slope that had been closed due to heavy snowfall, and Japanese authorities are currently investigating the incident.
According to reports from Sunday (24th) by Japanese media, the incident took place at Kagura Ski Resort in Yuzawa Town. Preliminary information released by the police identified the deceased as 27-year-old Fu Chunmi, a Chinese national who was visiting Niigata for a skiing trip.
Witnesses at the scene, who were fellow skiers, informed the police that they saw Fu fall but were hesitant to help her due to their own limited skiing abilities.
