Macau will shorten the quarantine period for fully-vaccinated visitors coming from Hong Kong, Taiwan and other overseas jurisdictions to the arrangement of “7+3” days on August 6 from the current arrangement of “10+7” days, authorities announced on Tuesday.
The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre also said in a statement that this new quarantine arrangement also covers any visitors to Macau, who have traveled to these non-Chinese Mainland regions in the past 10 days.
This new quarantine measure in Macau follows the decision made in the mainland, which has already reduced the isolation period for international travelers to “7+3” days in late June.
Starting from August 6, visitors from non-China Mainland will have to undergo seven days of quarantine in hotels and three days of self-health management that they are advised to avoid crowd gatherings and public spaces, the center said. They will also undergo nucleic acid testing (NAT) on the first three days, the fifth day, and the seventh day, following the completion of the seven-day quarantine in hotels.
