According to the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the performance of airlines substantially improved in June and, for example, from June 24 and 26, the number of flights exceeded 10,000 daily, rebounding to about 60% of the figure recorded before the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
It also mentioned an improvement in market confidence and predicted a sustained increase because the high summer travel season is near, there are plans to expand international routes and the country has relaxed control and prevention measures against Covid-19, although the borders remain closed.
China is currently in negotiations with several countries with a view to increasing international passenger flights and the authorities stressed the benefit of such action to meet the needs of people-to-people exchanges, the national economy and the sustainable development of the industry.
