TheFork, a company owned by Tripadvisor, has acquired the Austrian startup Delinski specialising in restaurant bookings.
The Austrian restaurant booking platform Delinski is being acquired by TheFork, a company owned by Tripadvisor, the leading global restaurant discovery and booking platform. The culinary platform Delinski makes special offers available to customers during periods of weaker demand. In this way, restaurants can increase their capacity utilisation and raise revenue. The merger with TheFork will enable Delinski to expand its product portfolio. TheFork is considered to be the fastest growing platform, with more than 30 million visits every month.
Last year Delinski registered a growth rate of 100 percent and employed a staff of only 20 people. One of the major success factors was the Delinski Restaurant Festival, in which guests enjoy a 50 percent discount on their bills. This initiative will be continued once again this summer, namely from 19 June to 31 August 2020. The underlying objective is to assist restaurants in German-speaking Europe which lost revenue as a consequence of the COVID-19 crisis to get back on their feet again.
