United Airlines is resuming services between Singapore and San Francisco via Hong Kong next Wednesday, July 8, laying on five flights a week.
Passengers in Singapore will be able to visit the United States via Hong Kong, the airline said.
United is also flying nonstop for passengers traveling between Hong Kong and San Francisco, as well as between Hong Kong and Singapore.
All flyers as well as employees are required to wear face masks.
United’s SIN-HKG-SFO route is operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft which features 48 seats in United Polaris business class, 88 seats in United Economy Plus and 116 in United Economy.
“As travel demand is set to gradually return and cargo demand between Asia and the U.S. remains strong, United is excited to get back to reconnecting customers in our two major Asia Pacific markets of Hong Kong and Singapore with the prime U.S. West Coast gateway of San Francisco,” said Marcel Fuchs, United’s managing director of international sales.
He said the airline is prioritizing health and safety of passengers and employees in the air and on the ground.
The airline has introduced “United CleanPlus,'' under which passengers are asked to complete a self health check, employee temperature checks are done before the start of their workday, sneeze guards are installed at check-in and gate podiums, passengers are encouraged to use the United app, and passengers are asked to self-scan boarding passes.
